The Guinea fowls
Guinea fowl farming
Guinea fowl breeding is called meleagriculture. Guinea fowl chicks are purchased from our suppliers and transported to a building for heating and breeding for 4 to 5 months before sale. The breeding process of ELIEL FARM is respected with great rigor.
Guinea fowls are raised in buildings.
Guinea fowls fly away during breeding and to compensate for this, some breeders cut the flight feathers on one side only in order to unbalance the bird which can no longer fly. Because of their fearful and nervous nature, guinea fowls cacabe (scream) a lot. This is why breeding must be kept away from residential areas so as not to disturb the neighbors. Guinea fowl love to be up high and from 1-month-old, perches must be installed in the breeding area to allow the expression of their natural perching instinct.
The mortality rate of guinea fowl is quite high if these conditions are met (high heat, freezing, lack of space, dirty water troughs, etc.). To avoid these health problems in guinea fowl, the important thing is to feed them well and protect them well.
